Divergent Futures
Square Model™

Neurodivergence is not a deficit, it’s a difference.

The Square Model, created by psychologists Monique Mitchelson and Anna Clarke, is designed to showcase and address the underlying needs of Autistic and ADHD people in therapy, with a particular focus on trauma treatment. Rooted in both professional expertise and our lived experience, this model offers a compassionate, evidence-based approach to supporting Neurodivergent clients.

Our upcoming resources explore the essential elements that Neurodivergent people need to access therapy successfully — including sensory needs, communication needs, and executive functioning needs. The Square Model also highlights the heightened risk of burnout among Neurodivergent individuals, ensuring these critical aspects are acknowledged and addressed. This knowledge isn't just for therapists — it’s invaluable for teachers, carers, professionals, and Neurodivergent people themselves.

Through our interactive and engaging workshops, we’re bringing this model to life, equipping professionals with the tools to better support Neurodivergent clients on their healing journey.

By shifting attitudes and building understanding, the Square Model provides a powerful framework for trauma recovery that meets Neurodivergent people where they are — not where the world expects them to be.
